KAWASAKI'S GREG KNOTT PROMOTED TO ENGINEERING SERVICES MANAGER

KAWASAKI’S GREG KNOTT PROMOTED TO ENGINEERING SERVICES MANAGER

Veteran KMC employee takes on a new role as company growth continues.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., (July, 2008) –Greg Knott, a ten-year veteran of Kawasaki Engines and Power Products Division, has been promoted to engineering services manager from his position as Applications Engineering Manager. The promotion was announced in conjunction with the company’s annual District Managers Meeting.

“Knott has been a key player in Kawasaki’s success over the years, bringing several in-house testing fixtures and procedures that have proved quite valuable,” said Rodger Howe, director of dealer channel sales and marketing.

The new Engineering Services Manager will be responsible for coordinating activities of applications engineering, quality services, and technical services groups to improve each teams understanding of the complete business model, as well as active participation in changing governmental regulations, including internal Kawasaki and external OEM communications regarding new and future regulations.

“We are familiar with Greg’s many strengths and his knowledge of both Kawasaki and our industry will be an invaluable asset in this new position,” said Howe.

Knott received his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and immediately joined the Kawasaki team as an associate applications engineer. He has been pivotal in the development of the Applications Engineering and Testing Group over the past ten years by investing in several critical pieces of testing equipment and laboratory updates, including water brake and eddy current dyno test stands, chassis dyno testing capabilities, as well as a full-size environmental testing chamber for cold and hot temperature testing needs to name a few. These additions have allowed Kawasaki to fully support OEM testing needs, assist in matching Kawasaki engines to several different types of applications, as well as support Kawasaki R&D, Quality and Warranty Departments when needed.

Kawasaki Engines and Power Products, a division of Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., distributes gasoline engines and professional handheld power products for landscape, industrial and consumer markets.
